The Project for Lean Urbanism has a top goal of Making Small Possible. Setting up Pink Zones is a significant misson of the Project. A Pink Zone is a quarter or district with red tape made lighter than usual, hence the "pink" attribute. The site says "The nonprofit Project for Lean Urbanism provides free tools, low-cost strategies, and help creating Pink Zones to level the playing field for small projects, allowing more people to participate in building their homes, businesses, and communities."
This initiative shares common ground with Tactical Urbanism, Incremental Development, and the Original Green and is hosted by the Center for Applied Transect Studies.
